Word Picture of Intercessory Prayer - from All Things Are Possible through Prayer
by Charles L. Allen
Picture some person in one room of a house and God in the next room. Between the two there is a wall. But if you stand in the doorway connecting the two rooms, then you can see the ones in each room. One could speak to the other through you. It may be that you have contact with some person who needs God's help. Between that person and God there may be a wall. It may be a wall of unbelief, or unconcern, or wrong living. But because you have contact both with that person and with God, you become the contact between the two and your prayers connect the person's need with God's power.
That is intercessory prayer.

Pray for our Military men and women
Please include
these young warriors in your daily prayer time. They are selflessly defending our freedoms around the globe, including our freedom to pray. Pray that God would protect them from harm, and that they would learn
to rely upon our Lord's strength and guidance.
If you have new information about anyone on this list, please send it to us by clicking here:
Military Prayer List update
The Hospital Visitation Ministry seeks to extend the ministering reach of Central Church to those who need the love, compassion, and comfort of Christ when facing medical crises and needs involving being in the hospital. It is our joy to visit your family or friends who are in the hospital to share our love and prayers as they would desire us to do so.
If you would like to request a hospital visit, please click on the link above and complete the Hospital Visitation Request Form. Make note of the required information. The Hospital Visitation Ministry Team will be notified, and a visit will be scheduled by one of our Hospital Visitation Lay Ministers or Staff Ministers, as appropriate.
Of course, if you are experiencing a medical emergency or a life-threatening situation, immediately contact 9-1-1. After securing appropriate emergency assistance, you can also advise Central Church of an immediate medical crisis/emergency by calling 901-888-4673 and requesting the Minister on Duty or by calling Sharon Duborg (901-255-8149). If calling after normal office hours, a recorded message will direct you how to proceed.
Jeremiah 29:11-14
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and I will bring you back from captivity."
